A day without an internet connection. Is it real?!

Nomophobia – a fear of being left without a mobile phone.
October 10, 2020 – an entire day without an internet connection. Certainly, I will remember this day šŸ˜€

I am tied to a cell phone! Therefore, this small device has become the most faithful friend of almost any of us. As a result, I tried to ā€œcut off your relationship with the internet connectionā€ for a few hours or for the whole day. Today we are all not just addicted to the World Wide Web. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we are completely obsessed with it. So millions of people open their eyes and immediately take up the phone – that is to say that everyone read the news on the Internet, check e-mail, reply to messages, comment on posts and photos of friends and strangers.

To clarify, nowadays you cannot do anything without it, even if you truly want. After all, the Internet is needed not only for work and play: make an appointment at a doctor, school or kindergarten, pay bills or shop, urgently transfer money and so on. It’s hard to imagine our life without a messenger, social networks, YouTube…

In such a situation, the phrase “a day without the Internet” sounds if not like a disaster, in other words – just like a serious problem that people are trying to solve as soon as possible. Like everything in this world, the Internet brings not only benefits but also serious harm. By time, people began to give more and more time to virtual life, forgetting about the offline life.

Decided to make an experiment. On the weekdays I did not dare to do this, I must always be in touch at work… however, to disconnect from gadgets on the weekend, or for example just for 1 weekend day, was very real. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Firstly, I went for a walk, secondly, read 1 and a half book, further, spent time with my family and friends. Had a cup of coffee, a cup of tea. Moreover: worked out, yoga, meditation. Tried to cook a new recipe, for instance. Had enough time to clean up my place. Went for groceries, bought a new favourite suit.

To be completely honest, it wasn’t impossible, but on the other hand – pretty difficult, certainly uncomfortable. To not feel tempted, few times even went outside without my phone – these sensations were worth the effort. In conclusion, everyone deserves a little me time. Above all, sometimes it’s helpful to be on your own. Most importantly is to take a break from everything that happens.
